ARRIVAL :.
ARRIVAL BY AIR
Copenhagen can be considered as the air hub of
Scandinavia with its modern Kastrup Airport which is only
about 8 km from the city. Traveling between the airport and
the city is very fast and easy for just twelve minutes by
taking the rails that link direct airport-to-city. The train
runs every 10 to 20 minutes on a daily basis starting from 5
a.m. to midnight on normal working days; from 5:30 a.m. on
Saturday and from 6:30 a.m. on Sunday. The fare is only 18
kr. Taxi ride to the center would cost about 125 kr and
taxis are available outside the arrival halls.
ARRIVAL
BY BUS & TRAIN
Nearly every coach and train that runs to Copenhagen are
destined at the Copenhagen Central Station (in Danish,
Hovedbanegården or København H). It serves as the city’s
transport hub, where there are excellent connections to
every area of the city by bus or local train. At the
station, there are wide array of shops, exchange booths,
bicycle rental office, restaurant, and luggage office.
ARRIVAL
BY BOAT
Copenhagen can be reached by ferries from Oslo in
Norway, Malmo in Sweden, Swinoujscie in Poland and the
Danish Island of Bornholm. The opening of the Oresund Bridge
that link Copenhagen and Sweden has helped to reduce the
arrival by boat from Sweden massively.
- Ferries with Oslo runs 2 times daily with 16 hours
journey.
- Ferries to Malmo run 23 times daily with 45 min to 1 hour
30 minutes.
- Ferries to Swinoujscie operate 5 times a week with 10 hour
journey.
- Ferry to Bornholm run once a day with 7 hour journey.
Most of
the ferries (except the Swinoujscie) docks at the points
very near to Nyhavn which is just a few minutes walk to the
city center. |
